The postcard is signed by German Titov on the back side of the photo. The signature is very clean and
sharp.

German Titov was born on September 11, 1935 in the village Verkhnee Zhilino, Altay. In 1955 Titov
finished 9-th Military aeroschool of primary education of Air Forces Pilots. In 1957 he graduated from
the High School of Pilots in Novosibirsk and received diploma and qualification
"military pilot". Since November 1957, he became a pilot of the 76-th Air Forces Army in Leningrad
Military District.
On March 07, 1960, German Titov was involved to the Group of Cosmonauts Training Center of Air Forces
which was being formed at that time and on January 25, 1961 he was engaged for the position of Cosmonaut
and given the qualification "Air Forces Cosmonaut". On August 06, 1961 German Titov
performed the world's first 24-hours space flight. For this feat he was awarded the highest award of
USSR - Hero of USSR Star.
After the flight he was engaged mostly into public and representative activities. He was also preparing
for two other flights in back-up crews and performed training flights on military planes. German Titov
died on September 20, 2000.
