manned spacecrafts participant Andrian Nikolaev.
The photo is signed by Andrian Nikolaev on September 12, 1962for "Valerian Nikolaevich Popov in the memory about flight" on
the front side, just under it. The signature is very clean and sharp.

Andrian Nikolaev was born on September 05, 1929 in the village Shorshely, Tchuvashia, Russia. In 1954 Nikolaev
graduated from the High School of Pilots in Turkestan military district. Since February 1957, he became
a pilot.
On March 07, 1960, Andrain Nikolaev was involved to the Group of Cosmonauts Training Center of Air Forces
which was being formed at that time and on January 25, 1961 he was engaged for the position of Cosmonaut
and given the qualification "Air Forces Cosmonaut". On August 11, 1961 Andrian Nikolaev
performed the world's first group flight of two manned spacecrafts on VOSTOK-3 together with P. Popovich
(VOSTOK-4). For this feat he was awarded the highest award of USSR - Hero of USSR Star. On June 01,
1970 Nikolaev performed his second spaceflight together with V. Sevastianov as the Commander of SOYUZ-9.
After the flight he was engaged mostly into public and representative activities. He was also preparing
for two other missions in back-up crews between his two flights.
