The photo is signed by Valentina Tereshkova on the front side just under the photo.
The signature is a bit blotted.

Valentina Tereshkova was born on March 06, 1937 in village Maslennikovo, Yaroslavl Region. In 1955 she
finished school and until 1960 worked in Yaroslavl factory of artificial tissues "Krasnyi Perekop". Since 1960
she became the Secretary of VLKSM (Soviet Comunist Organization of Youth) of this factory.
Later after the flight Valentina Tereshkova continued her study and in 1969 she graduated from the
Military Air Engineering Academy by N.E. Zhukovsky and recieved qualification "pilot-engineer-
cosmonaut".
On March 12, 1962, Valentina Tereshkova was involved to the Group of Cosmonauts Training Center of Air
Forces and on June 16, 1963 she was engaged for the position of Instructor-Cosmonaut. On June 16, 1963
Tereshkova performed the world's first flight of Woman into the Space on board of VOSTOK-6. For this flight
she was awarded the highest award of USSR - Hero of USSR Star.
After the flight she was engaged mostly into public and representative activities. She was also preparing
for other missions in back-up crews.
