Zenit NV series night viewers are designed for observation in the twilight and at night. The principle of a night viewer operation is based on intensification of the luminous radiation from the observed space by an electrooptical transducer. Complete with an illuminator it allows to observe in total darkness.

The illuminator is used for extra illumination of the object to be observed at deficient natural night light as well as when observing in total darkness.

The use of a built-in piezoelectric transducer as a power source is a peculiarity of this night viewer, that allows the viewer operation without ordinary galvanic batteries!!!
